Engineering Experience
Educational Background
The typical software engineer at WynEdge has a bachelors or masters degree in computer science and/or electrical engineering. We typically hire from Tier 1 engineering schools including University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, Georgia Tech, University of Illinois, and other leading institutions.
Professional Training and Staff Development
Software engineering is constantly changing and WynEdge invests a significant percentage of its total budget on training and staff development. Each year, WynEdge sends a team of engineers to Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference. We also partner with clients on combined training opportunities in areas that are related to the technology at hand. Beyond formal training programs, WynEdge engineers take it upon themselves to stay abreast of new trends, new technologies, and new programming methodologies.
Experience
A strong educational background and proper training are key components to engineering success. But real world experience across a variety of domains enables our team to ramp up quickly with your technology and begin to add value on day 1. On average, WynEdge engineers have over 15 years experience and -- because our help enables you to launch on time and on budget -- this level of experience has a significant impact on your company's bottom line.
Continuity
WynEdge was incorporated in 1994 and is now in its 12th consecutive year of managed growth. A key to our success has been the ability to attract great engineers, reward them for their contributions, and invest heavily in their professional growth and development. This strategy has been successful and is reflected in continuity of our team. The first engineer hired ten years ago is still a strong contributor. The average tenure at WynEdge is over 7 years. Our clients benefit from this continuity because there is a strong likelihood the engineer who worked on their project a few years ago is still available for ongoing consulting.
The senior engineering team at WynEdge is very experienced playing a leadership role on software engineering projects. We work closely with clients to clearly define the following:
- Project objectives
- Product/process requirements
- Scope of work
- Resource requirements
- Schedules and milestones
- Reporting
A critical element of all successful projects is effective communication. Senior WynEdge engineers have excellent oral and written communication skills and we take the necessary steps to communicate critical issues, risk factors, and project updates as required.
People SkillsResearch and development is a team sport. To progress in a project, it’s critical that team members are on the same page and moving in the same direction. WynEdge software engineers have people and communication skills to be work in a variety of cultures and environments and be strong team members. We walk into new projects with a single goal; to work tirelessly for the benefit of our client.
